You may add a few drops of mild soap or rose water, but avoid using harsh chemicals. Rinse thoroughly and dry it with a clean, soft cloth. For spiritual purification, place the Kowdi on a clean cloth near a lit diya or incense, and sprinkle it with Ganga Jal or dip it briefly in cow’s milk or holy water. Chant “Om Dum Durgayei Namah” or any Durga mantra 9 or 108 times to energize and sanctify it. Placing it under moonlight on a full moon night also enhances its spiritual power.
