The Raj Laxmi Cowrie is a sacred sea shell deeply associated with Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Laxmi originated from the sea, making cowries (sea shells) a symbol of prosperity and abundance.

In ancient times, cowries were even used as currency, highlighting their value and significance. Today, Raj Laxmi Cowries are used in Goddess Laxmi Puja to invoke her blessings of wealth, prosperity, and good fortune.

These Raj Laxmi Cowries are considered highly auspicious and are believed to bring positive energy to the surroundings, attracting prosperity and success. Each cowrie is approximately 35mm in size and sold in a pack of 5 pcs, making them ideal for use in Puja rituals or as a decorative symbol of divine blessings.

To cleanse a Raj Laxmi Cowrie (Kawadi), gently rinse it with lukewarm water and a few drops of rose water or mild soap to remove any dust or impurities. Use a soft cloth to wipe it clean, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry it completely. For spiritual purification, place the cowrie on a clean cloth near a lit diya or incense stick, and sprinkle it with Ganga Jal or briefly dip it in cow’s milk. Chant “Om Shreem Maha Lakshmyai Namah” 9 or 108 times to energize it with divine blessings. For enhanced spiritual effect, keep it under full moonlight overnight.
